I read some reviews that said that this cable & cables similar to it didn't work with their PS2s, and that all they got were blank or black screens.

I recently updated to a large HDTV and wanted to get a component cable for my PS2 to improve picture quality over what I was getting with my old composite cable. I decided to take a chance on this cable even though I was worried that it wouldn't work with my old 1st generation PS2 given that the price on this cable was so low.

Well, I was very pleased with the purchase. The cable works fine, and I didn't even have to make any adjustments to the PS2 (which some people have stated they needed to do). I just exchanged the old cable for this one, turned it on, and it worked great. Furthermore, the picture quality over my composite cable was definitely noticeable.

If you're looking for a HDTV component cable for your PS2, I'd recommend this one.
